CHILDREN, YOUTH & PARENTING Child Care Options Emergency Child Care has been put in place to support the ability of Canadian Forces members to be available for military operations and regular duty by providing immediate and regulated childcare in times of emergency. An emergency is classified as an unexpected duty call where the member does not have sufficient time to implement his/her Family Childcare Plan. An emergency might also arise while the member is deployed or on operations and the spouse encounters medical or other problems, which disrupts the usual childcare arrangements and requires immediate alternative care. If you require emergency childcare, please contact the TMFRC at one of these numbers:
Emergency Respite Care is available to Canadian Forces families when it has been determined that a period of respite is absolutely essential for the family’s continued health and well-being (i.e. critical to the mental health of the child or caregiver). Services can be provided for 24 to 72 hours until the provision of the family’s Childcare Plan can be met. If you require emergency respite childcare, please contact Cathy Turalinski at 416-633-6200 ext. 4312 or email turalinski.ca@forces.gc.ca. |
